Celebrate Puzzle Day by solving a puzzle at the library. Tables will be set up with jigsaw puzzles of varying difficulty levels. Patrons can work individually or in teams to complete the puzzles. Drop-in activity. No registration required.

Calling all puzzlers!!  January 29 is National Puzzle Day and we are celebrating with a Long Hill Township Library Puzzle Competition! Race against other puzzlers to complete a puzzle in the time provided.  Prizes will be awarded.  You can join in on the fun as an individual or a family!  Registration required. Register HERE.

Start off the new year the right way with this vision board workshop! Collage and Zine artist Kara DJ will help you build a vision board to keep your motivation to achieve your goals high throughout all of 2025.  Kara will discuss composition and other artistic principals as you create your personalized board.

Heartfulness Meditation One-on-One Sessions

Heartfulness meditation is a simple yet profound practice that helps individuals achieve a deeper sense of relaxation, inner calm, and emotional balance. By focusing on the heart, this practice encourages self-awareness, and a connection to one’s inner self. It offers a practical approach to managing stress, reducing anxiety, and cultivating better sleep habits.

Do you love to write?  Need some friendly support and feedback?  Join us in this collaborative, creative writing group now every Monday at 3:30pm!

A beloved LHT Library patron, Elaine Shaub, loved to write.  She would come to the library to free her mind and write her stream of consciousness.  Sadly, Elaine passed away in April of 2024 and, in her memory, the LHT Library invites community residents to be part of the newly re-formed Elaine’s Peacock Writers Group.  Inspiration, guidance, support and gentle critiques will be offered at the meetings.  Experience is not necessary, only the desire to put pen to paper and write.  Tools required: pen and paper, tablet or laptop — whatever helps the writing process.  All are welcome — what is shared in the group, stays in the group!

Each meeting,  a “Writing Prompt” will be provided to assist in the creative writing process and help direct the group discussions. In addition, every meeting will begin with a brief discussion on writing craft, creativity, writing preparation and time management.

This is a writing forum where everyone will be asked to write-out or simply jot-down their ideas and read them to the group. We welcome feedback and the writing trainer will provide light, constructive criticism. Please note that this is an adult forum, so adult language is tolerated within the context of the writing pieces.

Newcomers are always welcome!

Moonlight Meditation on Zoom is back!  Learn techniques from our experienced instructor Anita Pacheco. Appropriate for new as well as experienced meditators. We start with short 5- 10 minute guided meditations. A nice way to end your Monday!

Backyard Birds

Presented by Ben Barkley of the Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center

Gear up for the Great Backyard Bird Count (Feb 13-16) by getting acquainted with many of New Jersey’s common backyard birds. Join Naturalist Ben Barkley to spend some time learning the fundamentals of backyard bird watching. You will learn basic identification skills, what to feed backyard birds, as well as when and where to place feeders in your yard.
