Join us to watch Coco, the story of an aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.  Snacks are provided. ( 1h 45m)

Make a decorative Sugar Skull. A sugar skull, or calavera de azúcar, is a decorative confection, traditionally made of sugar, that is a prominent symbol of the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) celebrations.

Join us for a special story time in honor of 1000 Books Before Kindergarten’s Big Read 2025. Learn more about the program and its benefits and how to participate. The idea today is for everyone one to read just 1 book with their child. BUT at the library we will read library books, make our own All About Me books and read in fun cozy places, like tents!

No need to register- just show up ready to read and have fun!

Join us for the beautiful music of Ana Maria Rosado, a guitarist who has performed contemporary and Latin American music around the world. Formerly a professor of music at New Jersey City University, she has released two solo CDs, We’ve Got (Poly)Rhythm, and Salsa and Other Beats and we are so happy to have her return to the LHT Library.   Come relax and listen!

We are happy to have Ana Maria return to perform at the LHT Library as part of a concert series sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Each session introduces core programming concepts through fun, hands-on projects in Scratch, Python, and robotics, with a strong focus on creativity, collaboration, and real-world applications. Together, students will make games, build robots, and solve problems that will make them better thinkers, problem-solvers, and team members. Students of all genders and backgrounds are welcome, no experience is needed!

Join us for a bilingual story time as we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Harvest Moon. This festival includes the moon, rabbits, lanterns and mooncakes! We plan to read a few stories, using English and Chinese words and doing a simple craft related to the stories. All are welcome to join us for a walk around Kantor Park, admiring the full moon (as our New Jersey skies permit that night!) No registration needed.

What Makes Magic…Magic?

Join us for a unique in-person magic show entitled, “What Makes Magic…Magic?”  presented by Bill Wisch. This isn’t your typical magic show: it actually defines, explains and demonstrates the five key elements of why magic is so much fun to watch…and to do. Featuring the highest quality sleight of hand magic, plus unique stories and interesting “behind-the curtain” information from Bill’s full-time career.

This event is intended for adults, but is appropriate for anyone ages 8+

Library Chef Kids: Veggie Baked Ravioli
