Writing College Essays

An online Zoom presentation

During this presentation, Kate will review what colleges are looking for in a personal statement and how students can approach selecting a topic.  She will discuss proper formatting and organization as well as reviewing writing tools and tips.  In addition to the main college essay, Kate will give an overview of how to approach college-specific supplemental essays and help students get started when tackling some of the most common prompts that colleges use.

Presenter: Kate is the owner of Balboni College Advising and a certified New Jersey School Counselor. She served as an admissions counselor for Drew University and as a regional admissions coordinator at the University of South Carolina.  During her time in undergraduate admissions she has reviewed thousands of applications and student essays, conducted hundreds of student interviews, and visited over 50 college campuses throughout the nation.
