Curbside Pickup Beginning Monday, June 22

Limited curbside pickup service is starting Monday, June 22 for Long Hill residents. Only items physically available at the library will be available for pick-up.

Place your requests online through our website’s catalog, by e-mail, or by phone (908) 647-2088. We ask that patrons limit their holds to five (5) items per pick up.

Librarians will be here to answer your questions Monday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm.

After you receive confirmation that we have processed your request, please contact us to schedule a pick-up appointment.

Hours for pick-up are:

10:30 am – 2:30 pm Monday – Friday

10:30 am-1:30 pm on Saturday

When you arrive at the library, please 1) pull into a convenient spot; and 2) call the library at 908-647-2088 to let us know you are here and receive further instructions. 3) Then walk up the stairs, and your book will be available in a bag with a receipt with your last name showing on the red book cart. Please maintain 6 feet of social distance from other patrons and library staff. We are unable to deliver directly to your vehicle at this time.

NO CURBSIDE PICKUP JULY 7, ELECTION DAY. Please keep in mind that curbside may be canceled temporarily due to inclement weather or other considerations. Also keep in mind that although you may place up to 25 holds, we may only be able to deliver a few items per pick-up.

Patrons may also return their items to our book drop starting Monday, June 22 according to the following schedule by the first letter of your last name:

FRIDAY           Q-U

No donations please.

All items will be quarantined after drop off for 72 hours before they are checked in and removed from your record. No fines will accrue during the quarantine period. The Book Drop will be closed July 3, 4, 5 and on Sundays.

We understand that curbside service is not a substitute for an in-person visit to the library. However we are anxious for the day when we can permit public access into the building and eventually reach a new “normal.” We have worked very hard to create a plan for the future, and when we can safely allow people back into the library, we will.

We continue to wish you and your loved ones good health and good reading. If you have questions, please call (908) 647-2088 M-F 10 am to 5 pm or S 10 am to 2 pm or visit our website at
